Athletes Of All Abilities Team Up For Summer Fun In Bayport-Blue Point

The summer program pairs athletes of all abilities with student mentors for exercise, recreation and social connection.

BAYPORT-BLUE POINT, NY — Students are staying active while forming new friendships through an inclusive summer program hosted by the Bayport-Blue Point School District.

The district is once again welcoming Inclusive Sports and Fitness Inc., which brings together students from Bayport-Blue Point and neighboring school districts for fitness, recreation and social activities.

The program provides people of all abilities with a supportive environment where they can exercise, build confidence and develop healthy habits.

Athletes are paired with peer mentors who provide encouragement, friendship and assistance throughout the program. The mentors include middle and high school students, as well as college-aged volunteers.

Each day, athletes and mentors participate in activities designed to promote physical fitness and social connection. Participants walk or jog on the track, play games and sports, practice yoga and complete crafts together.
