B-BP Schools Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent For Curriculum And Instruction

The Bayport-Blue Point School District has announcee that Dr. Ted Fulton has been named the district’s new assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, effective Aug. 1.

Most recently, Fulton has served as the principal of George W. Hewlett High School in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District. During his time as principal, Fulton contributed toward the building being designated a Newsweek’s top 500 high school’s in the nation and top five on Long Island as well as being identified as a New York State Education Department “Reward School.” Fulton was integral in the school’s development and implementation of the first Advanced Placement Capstone Seminar and Research Program on Long Island (2014) as well as the identification of ways to enrich student experiences through such programs as the study of Mandarin, American Sign Language and AP Computer Science.

Prior to his role as principal at George W. Hewlett High School, Fulton was principal of Newfield High School in the Middle Country School District and worked as an adjunct professor at Dowling College from 2009-2016. Throughout his professional career, he has published several articles and presented them on a local and national level.

Fulton holds a bachelor of arts degree in secondary social studies and history from SUNY Cortland, a master of science in school administration and supervision as well as a master of arts in history from Long Island University and a doctor of education in educational administration from Dowling College.
