Bayport-Blue Point 2022 - 2023 School Budget: What You Need To Know
Residents will be voting on the budget and school board trustees on May 17. Here's what you need to know.
BAYPORT-BLUE POINT, NY —On May 17, voters in the Bayport-Blue Point District will head to the polls to vote for the district's proposed 2022 to 2023 budget.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Bayport-Blue Point High School.
The proposed 2022-23 spending plan is $80,969,342 an increase of $3,996,807 from the current budget, or 5.19 percent. The adopted budget contains a tax levy increase of 3.49 percent.

Several people are running for four spots on Board of Education this year:
- John Kroog (incumbent) is being challenged by Elizabeth Cavuto.
- Brian Johnson (incumbent) is being challenged by Daniel Bertran.
- Sandi Kanne and Jenna Kennedy are running for the seat of Jason Borowski (incumbent), who is not seeking re-election.
- Amy Hope and Jessica Pignataro are running for the one-year term remaining on the seat of Daniene Byrne, who vacated her position early.
A budget hearing will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m., in the Bayport-Blue Point High School auditorium.
