Bayport Blue-Point Alum to Compete in Miss NY USA Pageant

Bailee Wines graduated from Bayport Blue-Point High School in 2011 with honors. She received several scholarships for academic achievement and is a Member of the National Honor Society from Bayport Blue-Point High School. Bailee attended Suffolk County Community College before transferring to Dowling College where she plans to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Earth Science and Special Education. Bailee was inducted into the Before transferring to Dowling, Bailee had the honor of being chosen out of thousands of applicants to intern for the Walt Disney Corporation.

Bailee took a bold step a few weeks ago after receiving a flyer from the Miss NY USA Pageant. She completed the application and sent it in. A few days later, she received a call from them and was asked by the Pageant interviewer why she would like to be a contestant in the Miss NY USA competition. Her answer was honest. She replied, “I am doing this not only for me, but for girls like me. I have never been the pillar of self-confidence and if I were to win this pageant and become Miss New York USA, I would be able to show girls that although some may have flawless skin, flowing hair, and model figures, we all have beauty to call our own.”

In January, 2015, Bailee will step onto the stage to show she and others that if you dream of stepping out of your comfort zone in order to show yourself that you can do anything, even when you are not Society’s idea of being cookie cutter perfect, you can accomplish anything.

In order to achieve her goal of participating in the Miss NY USA pageant, Bailee needs assistance in the form of Sponsorship. For businesses in our area that would like to sponsor Bailee they will receive recognition in the pageant program that is tax deductible. Please contact Mrs. Tracy Heflin, 631- 681-3610, for instructions to make a monetary sponsorship contribution directly to the pageant or that Bailee can forward to the pageant. Checks are to be made out to Miss New York USA Pageant.
