Club members will head to Rochester in March.
Bayport-Blue Point High School’s DECA club has once again qualified to compete in the New York State DECA competition after a successful showing at the Suffolk County regional contest.
During the event, which tested the team’s knowledge in the areas of marketing, finance, hospitality and management, 16 students earned top honors and a bid to the coveted state contest. Five students are still waiting to hear back on their business proposals.
The state competition will be held in Rochester, New York in early March. Students who advance beyond the state level will have the opportunity to compete at the national conference in Orlando, Florida.
