Bayport-Blue Point High Student Council Holds Annual Pajama, Book Drive

Donations went to homeless families in the area.

The Bayport-Blue Point High School student council coordinated a donation drive to help make the holiday season a warm and cozy one for families in need this December.

During the annual pajama and book drive, the school collected more than 165 pairs of children’s sleepwear and favorite nighttime stories for the HELP Suffolk in Bellport. This establishment is a tier II homeless sheltered that provides temporary housing for 76 homeless families. Members of the student council had the opportunity to help deliver the donations just before the holiday season and meet with several families benefiting from the organization’s services.

This year’s drive was once again organized through the pajama program, whose mission is to provide new pajamas and books to children in need, may of whom are in shelters like HELP Suffolk.
