Bayport-Blue Point Welcomes Freshmen Students

Bayport-Blue Point High School’s incoming ninth-grade students were given a glimpse of what to expect over the next four years of their academic careers during a summer orientation held on Aug. 31.

Principal Dr. Gaurav Passi commenced the program by asking the students to envision where they pictured themselves after high school, whether it be in a four-year college or joining the work force after graduating, and assured them that the school would provide the support needed to achieve that goal.

Reflecting on their own high school experiences, seniors Emily de Onis, Abby Auwaerter and Sierra Bianchini shared a few pieces of advice. They spoke about what the incoming students could expect this year and the importance of getting involved.

After the information session concluded, members of the high school’s peer leaders program led building tours and helped the freshmen open their lockers for the first time.
