Bayport Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges: Police

A tip from a national task force led detectives to execute a search warrant at a Bayport home, police say.

BAYPORT, NY — A Bayport man was arrested Tuesday evening on felony child pornography charges following an investigation by the Suffolk County Police, police said.

According to police, detectives from the department’s Digital Forensics Unit began investigating Ryan Yost, 22, after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Police said a search warrant was executed at Yost’s home on East Road, where detectives recovered images depicting child pornography from a cellphone inside the residence.

Yost was arrested at approximately 6:30 p.m. and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child under 16, both felonies, police said.

He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip, according to authorities.
