Bellone Invites Residents to Job Fairs

Employers looking to hire workers from around Suffolk County

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone invites residents who are looking for work to participate in Suffolk County job fairs and career education events.

“We have an excellent workforce here in Suffolk County,” County Executive Bellone said. “Employers who are looking to fill positions know they can find the talent they need at these job fairs, and workers know they can add to the skills they have at our career presentations.”

On Dec. 16, a representative will discuss the variety of careers in Civil Service, navigating the Service’s website, and provide information on applying for Civil Service examinations. The session will begin at 9:30 a.m., at the One-Stop Employment Center, 725 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge.

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will host a job fair at the Brentwood Public Library, 34 2nd Avenue, Brentwood. Home Depot, the New York State Court System, Briarcliffe College, Bright Star Care, Catholic Charities and many other employers are recruiting to fill numerous positions. The job fair will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will host a job fair at the Sayville Public Library, 88 Greene Avenue, Sayville, from 1 to 4 p.m. Employers, including Mercy Haven , NBTY, NRL Strategies, The Arbors Assisted Living, UCP of Suffolk and US Postal Service are recruiting employees.

The Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center is a cutting-edge endeavor which brings together both employers and job seekers, providing a comprehensive, one-stop approach to job search. Staffed with employment professionals from several private and public entities, the Employment Center functions as a full service human resources facility. Equipped with state of the art computers, fax machines, phones, and copiers, the Employment Center also maintains job banks and specializes in job clubs, job fairs, employability and computer workshops and focus groups.
