Box Truck Driver Charged With DWI After Sunrise Highway Crash: Police
The truck rear-ended a Subaru in Bohemia, leaving its driver with minor injuries, Suffolk police said.
BOHEMIA, NY — A box truck driver was charged with driving while intoxicated after a two-vehicle crash on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia, Suffolk police said.
Noel Ventura Sorto, 35, of Hicksville, was driving a 2024 Hino box truck west near Locust Avenue at about 5:54 p.m. Thursday when the truck rear-ended a 2011 Subaru, police said.
The Subaru’s driver, a 32-year-old Levittown man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.

Ventura Sorto was charged with driving while intoxicated and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
