Information on local scheduled events for Thursday, Dec. 16.

On Thursday, Dec. 16 residents can attend one of the four varsity Phantoms sports events, a spinning class to benefit the community and/or open mic night, among other things. Check out what is scheduled to take place in the area.
  • Spin for a Cause Fundraiser- presented by the  PTA to benefit families in the school community for the holiday season. Ride, donate or do both on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. There is a $20 donation to ride in a 45 minute Spin Class at CYCLE EVOLUTION located in East Islip Health & Fitness, 269 East Main St., East Islip.   • Town of Brookhaven Work Session, 1:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville.
  • Quilt Club at , 7 p.m. Anyone interested in a social evening with other quilters, this is for you. Registration by phone, online or at the Reference desk is required. All are welcome regardless of experience or expertise.
  • Girls track at the crossover meet, Suffolk County Community College - West, 1001 Crooked Hill Rd, Brentwood, 7:30 p.m.
  • Head down to the in Blue Point every Thursday for Open Mic Night with Tom Groney. Begins at 9 p.m.
