Comparing Cultures, Exchanging Education at B-BP High
Several students from France recently visited the school.
Through a cultural exchange project, Bayport-Blue Point High School students learned about the country and culture of France when several students from the Lycée Carnot travelled from Cannes – located in the south of France – to visit school.
After a warm welcome from their host families, the visitors were quickly immersed in the life of a B-BP student. Throughout the visit, the visitors attended classes alongside their peers, attended such events as school sporting events and embarked on an excursion in NYC. The two groups discussed the similarities and differences between high school in both countries – including the release time for students, spots options, and how French students declare a “concentration” to study while still in high school.
In addition to attending an American high school, the French students visited Dowling College, toured the Bayport Fire Department and explored Bayport Flower Houses.
