Historical Figures Come to Life at Sylvan Elementary

Fourth-graders take part in school's annual Wax Museum exhibition.

Bayport-Blue Point’s Sylvan Avenue Elementary School fourth-grade students embodied various historical figures as they participated in the building’s recent annual Wax Museum exhibition.

Prior to the event, the students selected an individual of historical importance and researched that person’s life and contributions. They created information posters to detail their findings and dressed as their chosen subject during the museum.

At the event, the students remained still as if set in wax until visitors ā€œbrought them to lifeā€ by tapping their activation buttons. They then delivered a short speech about the person they embodied in the first person.
