Hometown Hero: Real Estate Agent Collects For Local Food Pantry

BAYPORT, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Louise Schaetzle nominated her friend, Bayport resident Tina Dougherty. Schaetzle wanted to honor Dougherty, who works as a real estate agent who has been hosting multiple food drives throughout the pandemic. All the food collected is then donated to the Sayville Food Pantry.

According to her friend, Dougherty goes above and beyond to help people. She is also "always thoughtful and kind."
