The library will hold a special presentation on Monday, October 6 from 7:00-8:30pm. The Artist Colony, created in 1926, was located in farm buildings originally built to sustain the local Oakdale estate belonging to William K Vanderbilt I. This area is know as Idle Hour. Join Dowling College Faculty Librarian, Diane Holliday as she discusses the art and artists of the Idle Hour Artist Colony and provides a glimpse of what life was like there during the roaring 20s.
