James Wilson Young Middle Spreads Holiday Cheer
School coordinated a number of community service projects.

Bayport-Blue Pointās James Wilson Young Middle School students and staff worked to make the holiday season a merry and bright one for local families by coordinating a number of community service projects.
The national junior honor society organized a share the warmth drive, which solicited donations of cold weather outerwear items. During the initiative, they collected many hats, scarves and gloves for the Patchogue Soup Kitchen. Additionally, the eighth-grade class collected hundreds of toys for the Marines organized Toys for Tots program and the leadership club collected pet food and supplies for the Islip Animal Shelter.

In addition to the school wide efforts, the buildingās staff adopted 18 families for the holidays. Community members aided to the cause by making monetary donations during school concerts and staff members purchased holiday gifts for the recipients.
