Kady Brownell Tent #36 DUVCW Installs 2016 Officers

Kady Brownell Tent #36 DUVCW held their Annual Installation Luncheon at Lily Flanagan’s Pub in Babylon on Sunday, February 21st, 2016. Pictured above are tent members with past DUVCW National President Ellen Higgins (center), who installed the group’s 2016 officers.

Luncheon guests brought a total of 38 books for donation to the library at The Veterans Place in Yaphank. Additional funds raised by the luncheon’s raffle and auction will aid the tent’s goals of providing scholarships, funding local historical restorations, and giving support to our veterans.

Members of Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861 - 1865 are direct descendants of Union soldiers or sailors who were honorably discharged from or gave their lives in service to our nation during the American Civil War. Some activities that tent members enjoy together include historical exhibits, commemoration ceremonies, and bringing good cheer to veterans during the holidays.
