Lincoln Avenue Elementary Hosts Family STEAM Night
Students, Family, and Staff Take Part in Learning Activities
Lincoln Avenue Elementary School, of the Sayville Union Free School District, recently hosted a memorable Family STEAM Night. The event brought together over 400 attendees including students, families, and staff who were able to spectate and take part in the many learning stations that promoted critical thinking and overall problem-solving skills.
Student science fair projects were on display at the event, allowing the young scientists-in-the-making to unveil their work to the Sayville community. The Lincoln Avenue PTA contributed a fun science-themed assembly for the event’s attendees. As the night went on, families were able to participate in various STEAM-based activity stations which involved teamwork and thinking outside the box.
“This was a true community event. I was beyond pleased with the incredible turnout. Seeing our students and families come together to engage in science, technology, engineering, art, and math in such a fun and meaningful way was truly special.,” said Dominic Armano, principal of Lincoln Avenue. “I also would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 22 dedicated Lincoln Avenue staff members who volunteered the time to support the event. Their enthusiasm and commitment helped make the night a resounding success.”
