Long Island Storm Damage Reports [Photos]

A nor'easter caused some minor damage and flooding across the island. See the list of damage reports from the National Weather Service.

Long Island is cleaning up and drying up Tuesday after a nor'easter that caused some minor damage and coastal flooding across the region.

As of noon Tuesday, all wind and flood warnings have expired, but a coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m for southwestern Suffolk County. A coastal flood statement is also in effect until 1 p.m. for southern Nassau.

An inch to an inch and a half of rain fell across the island by Tuesday morning. Wind gusts topped 60 mph on the South Fork overnight, but for the most part, the storm was less powerful than forecast. Find rain and wind reports here.

The wind did knock down some trees and power lines, causing several thousand PSEG Long Island customers to lose power at times Monday. But as of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, power had been restored to all but 659 customers, according to the PSEG outage map.

Some minor coastal flooding was reported across the island around high tide Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The Lindenhurst area and the East End seemed to get the worst of it.
