LONG ISLAND TUBA QUARTET at the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library

Join us at the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library on Sunday, November 23 at 2:00pm for a performance by the Long Island Tuba Quartet. The LITQ will entertain you with an eclectic and wide array of musical selections that will highlight the sounds of their tubas and euphoniums.

All are welcome. No registration required.

“Formed in 1986, to perform at the Tubafest, sponsored by the Suffolk County Music Educator’s Association (SCMEA) the Long Island Tuba Quartet was such a hit that year that the members kept it going and it became a highlight of the SCMEA Day Of Tuba and Euphonium every year since. Since then, the group has performed on faculty department music recitals for various school districts. The group has also appeared as guests with various community and high school concert bands. The group’s most unusual engagement took place when the ensemble performed in Stony Brook at a seminar on “death and dying.” At the opposite end of the spectrum, the group has performed the music for wedding ceremonies and at Christmas parties. Over the past several years, LITQ has also performed several concerts in libraries and parks on Long Island.”

“Combining each of the player’s performance experiences together, they have played with almost every musical organization on Long Island, and then some. Performing music in many styles from classical, to Broadway show music, movie music, early pop standards, jazz and rock, LITQ is definitely a sound to be heard and a good time is always had by all, especially by LITQ themselves.”
