Man Drives Drunk, Crashes Into Bayport Home, Flees: Cops

BREAKING: A 20-year-old man was arrested after he crashed his car into a Bayport home and then fled the scene, police say.

BAYPORT, NY - A 20-year-old man was arrested after he crashed his car into a Long Island home and then fled the scene early Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, Kevin Sheehan Jr. was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion on Bayport Avenue when he lost control of the car and crashed into a garage attached to a house at 482 Bayport Avenue near Davis Street at 12:08 a.m.

Sheehan, of Blue Point, fled the scene in the car, police said. Fifth Precinct Patrol officers were able to identify and locate Sheehan and the vehicle, police said. There were no injuries reported.

Sheehan was arrested and charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana. He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
