Motorcyclist Killed In Bohemia Crash After Collision With SUV: Police

The Sayville motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital following the Bohemia crash, police say.

BOHEMIA, NY — A 39-year-old Sayville man was killed in a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV Wednesday morning in Bohemia, Suffolk County police said.

The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of northbound Lakeland Avenue and Peter Lane, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said a 41-year-old woman from Bohemia was driving a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder and attempting to make a left turn from west Peter Lane onto south Lakeland Avenue when her vehicle collided with a northbound 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as Daniel Javurek, 39, of Sayville, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The woman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
