New Restaurant Takes Over 150-Year-Old Farmhouse In Bayport

BAYPORT, NY - What was once a 150-year-old farmhouse in Bayport is now the town's latest restaurant. JT's Farmhouse recently opened at the site of the historic farmhouse on 291 Bayport Avenue. The new eatery officially started serving customers the day before Thanksgiving last month.

JT's took over the former Grey Horse Tavern, which closed down over the summer. The business describes itself as a "casual farmhouse dining offering traditional dishes, beer and cocktails, plus live bands," according to its website.

Some of the things included in the lunch menu are deviled eggs, fried pickles and "meat candy," which is candied Pork belly burnt ends, corn bread and pickled red onions. In addition, there are three different tator tot dishes with a variety of sauces and seasonings added.

The dinner menu includes many of the same foods, which some additions such as charcuterie and cheese boards, mussels and meatballs.

The eatery is also taking reservations for New Year's Eve, where customers can dine from a special holiday menu.

JT's Farmhouse is open for lunch and weekend brunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner hours are from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. There is live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
