One-Woman Art Show at Patchogue-Medford Library

Jeanne Fields Rogers' Art Show Runs Throughout March 2015

Jeanne Fields Rogers, native Long Island artist, will have her artwork featured at Patchogue-Medford Library for the month of March. The theme of her one-person art show is “Long Island Scenes, Parks, and Historic Places.” Her collection includes 22 watercolor paintings depicting what Rogers recognizes as “the unique beauty of our Island.” As a board member of Long Island Studies Council (LISC), Rogers finds that the group’s excursions to historic homes, places, and locations provide much inspiration.

Jeanne Rogers received her BFA from Alfred University and her MS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, and did her post-graduate studies at CW Post and Parsons School of Design. She is a former elementary and high school art teacher in the Sayville School District as well as The Hewlett School of East Islip and Torah Academy of Commack and Plainview. She later became an Art Consultant and Adjunct Professor at Dowling College, and she taught in-service art courses to teachers of the Islips.

Rogers recently completed a four-year/two-term presidency for the Suffolk County Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, an organization of artists, writers and composers. Her other art memberships include South Bay Art Association (SBAA), Wet Paints Studio Art Group of Sayville, and Brookhaven Arts & Humanities Council (BAHC). She is also a member of American Association of University Women and has been included in their recent publication “Remarkable Women in NY State History.”
