Police: Bottomless Man Arrested on Heckscher State Parkway
A 57-year-old man faces a public lewdness charge following arrest Friday night.

An East Islip man was arrested Friday night after police received a call of a naked man running on the Heckscher State Parkway.
When troopers arrived on the scene, north of Exit 45-Montauk Highway in East Islip, they found 57-year-old Robert Zimmerman standing on the right shoulder wearing only a T-shirt and sneakers, State Police said.
Troopers apprehended Zimmerman shortly after he ran a wooded area off the parkway shoulder, police said.

Zimmerman’s pants were later found in the woods, police said.
Zimmerman, who lives in the Fairfield apartment complex on Belmore Avenue, was charged with public lewdness–a misdemeanor–and released on an appearance ticket. He is due in court on Aug. 31.
