Police ID Pedestrian Killed On Sunrise Highway Entrance Ramp
Suffolk County police have identified a 63-year-old man who was struck by a car on Tuesday morning.

SAYVILLE, NY — A 63-year-old man who was struck by a car and killed on Tuesday morning while crossing a Sunrise Highway entrance ramp has been identified, police said.
Amjed Hussain was crossing the westbound Sunrise Highway entrance ramp, west of Lakeland Avenue, at 6:45 a.m. when he was struck by a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, police said.
He was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Jeep was not injured and no charges have been filed, police said.

Hussain was reported to be homeless, police said.
The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
