Promoting Healthy Living at Sylvan Avenue Elementary

Sylvan Avenue Elementary School students in the Bayport-Blue Point School District had fun staying fit this winter during a unique physical education unit incorporating active video games.

Through the support of the PTA, fitness professionals introduced the iGame4 Fitness Program to help students improve their endurance, flexibility, balance and overall health. Large screens, projects and video game consoles were set up in the gymnasium and students had the chance to play each of the program’s three games – “Just Dance,” “National Geographic” and “Wipe Out.”
