The Turning Point: Henderson's solid second place performance on the 200-yard IM wasn't enough to carry the team as Connetquot picked up 1st, 3rd, and 4th to earn the most points for the race. Connetquot also performed well in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay, picking up first and second in both races to put their team ahead of Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint.
The Quote: "I think we swam real well," said Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint head coach Edward Krupp. "If they do what they were doing, then we really can't expect anymore."
The Bottom Line: Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint still has most of its league games left to play this season even after losing its first two, one this afternoon and another last Friday against Easthampton-Bridgehampton by one point, leaving its fate in the hands and feet or their young swimmers looking to improve.
Key Stat: Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint only finished two races with multiple top 3 finishers out of a total 12 races. Tobin and Meaghan Scheck took 1st and 2nd respectively in the 100-yard fly, and Fridrich and Tracey Rosa took 1st and 3rd respectively in the 500-yard freestyle. The team will need to improve that number if they want to win meets as the season progresses.
Who's Next?: Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint heads back home next Monday for a meet against Huntington at 4 p.m.
