Sayville-Bayport School Budgets Approved, Trustees Elected
The budget for Sayville includes a 1.72 percent increase in the tax levy while the budget for BBP includes a 3.49 percent increase.

SAYVILLE, NY — Residents in both the Sayville and Bayport-Blue Point School Districts voted to approve their 2021-23 school budgets on Tuesday.
In Sayville, the budget was passed by a margin of 2,010 to 688.
The $99,302,157 budget is a 2.4 percent increase from the current budget, or 2.4 percent and includes a 1.72 percent tax levy increase.

The proposition to authorize the expenditure of up to $15 million for roof work at five buildings in the district, as well as possible installation of air-conditioning in the high school auditorium passed by a margin of 1,860 to 726.
Maureen Dolan, Christine Sarni, and Kelly Sack won the board of education seats.

The school board vote breakdown:
- Maureen Dolan (incumbent) — 1,655 ; Alia Richards — 967
- Mark Ruf — 1,042; Christine Sarni — 1,529
- Kelly Sack (incumbent) 2,084; Write-ins — 75
In Bayport-Blue Point, the budget of $80,969,342 an increase of 5.19 percent, which includes a tax levy increase of 3.49 percent, was passed by a margin of 1,658 to 891.
John Kroog, Jessica Pignataro, Sandi Kanne, and Brian Johnson won spots on the board of education.
The school board vote breakdown:
- John Kroog (incumbent) — 1508; Elizabeth Cavuto — 992.
- Brian Johnson (incumbent) — 1,523; Daniel Bertran — 964.
- Sandi Kanne — 1,501 ; Jenna Kennedy — 986
- Amy Hope — 984; Jessica Pignataro — 1,495
