Sayville Board of Education Welcomes New Trustees

Kyle Valentine, Thomas Cooley Sworn In at Annual Reorganization Meeting

The Sayville Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on July 1, following the swearing-in of newly elected trustee Kyle Valentine at the Board's June meeting. Incumbent Thomas Cooley was sworn in to begin a new term during the July meeting.

“We are pleased to welcome Kyle Valentine to the Sayville Board of Education and congratulate incumbent Thomas Cooley on beginning his seventh term,” said Christine Sarni, the Board of Education president. “Both bring valuable professional experience, a strong record of community involvement, and a genuine commitment to serving the students, staff and families of Sayville. We look forward to working together to continue moving our district forward.”

Valentine, the newest trustee, is a Sayville resident of more than 10 years and the father of two young children. He currently serves as an assistant principal at a special education school in Suffolk County. His commitment to public service extends beyond education, including experience as a Sayville Little League coach and a former board member of a nonprofit special education preschool in Sayville.
