Sayville Names Gioia Racanelli 2025 Valedictorian

Gioia Racanelli has been named valedictorian of Sayville High School’s 2025 graduating class with Taylor Carpentieri earning the honor of salutatorian. Gioia and Taylor led the senior class with grade point averages exceeding 107.

Sayville High School valedictorian Gioia Racanelli is the senior class president and a three-year varsity-athlete that serves as a senior captain of the varsity cheerleading team. She is a five-time academic all-county honoree, a member of the National and World Languages Honor Societies, a peer leader, and a youth cheer coach. Gioia is currently uncommitted for college and has interest in multiple areas of study she may pursue.

Salutatorian Taylor Carpentieri is a senior class officer and the president of the Science National Honor Society. As a member of the Say-Bay Blue Swim Team, she serves on the Student Athlete and School Climate advisory committees and is a member of Athletes Serving Others. Taylor plays clarinet for the school’s wind ensemble and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She intends to study biological sciences at Cornell University this fall.

“Gioia and Taylor are both remarkable students who have exhibited commendable dedication throughout their academic careers,” said Sayville High School principal Stephanie Bricker. “They have both worked incredibly hard throughout their time in the District, and I am excited to see all that they accomplish in the future.”

“All of us in the Sayville School District pride ourselves in preparing the leaders and innovators of the future,” said Sayville Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marc Ferris. “Gioia and Taylor have proven themselves throughout their time in Sayville Schools and I expect great things from them in the future.”
