Sayville Pier 1 Closing Down

SAYVILLE, NY - A Sayville home decor store will be shuttering next month, a store employee confirmed. Pier 1, located in the Sayville Plaza on 5187 Sunrise Highway, will be officially closing its doors on January 28.

The chain announced possible store closings after reporting low financial results on Sept. 25.

"As anticipated, our fourth-quarter sales and profitability were disappointing and reflect the execution we identified earlier in the year and have been working with urgency to correct," Cheryl Bachelder, interim Pier 1 CEO, said in a statement.

A total of 30 Pier 1 stores were already closed down at the end of its fiscal year in March.

Now, the Sayville Pier 1 will be joining the new round of closures for 2020. The store will be holding sales until the last day.
