Sayville Resident Returns Home to Burglar Inside

SAYVILLE, NY - A man broke into a Sayville home Tuesday evening, but he fled when he was confronted by a resident who returned home, police said.

The incident occurred on Sunrise Avenue around 6 p.m., police said.

It appears no proceeds were taken from the home and there were no injuries reported, police said.

The investigation is continuing.
