Sayville School District Names Kauter Director of Technolgy

Christopher Kauter has been named the new Director of Technology and Innovation for the Sayville Union Free School District. In his new role, Kauter, a longtime Sayville resident, will focus on integrating advanced technology into the district’s curriculum to best prepare Sayville students for the challenges of a modern world.

Christopher Kauter is an acknowledged expert and leader in P-12 technology innovation, STEAM program development, and instructional leadership. He joins the Sayville School District’s leadership team with more than 22 years of experience in the field of education. Over the past six years, Kauter has served as the Director of Digital Learning and Innovation in the Bay Shore Union Free School District. Prior to that, he held several positions in the Deer Park Union Free School District, including Director of Instructional Technology (2016-2019), Technology Teacher Leader (2014-2016), and social studies teacher (2002-2015).

Kauter, who will start in his new position on January 21, earned a Bachelor’s degree in history from Iona University and a Master’s degree in teaching from Stony Brook University. He also earned a professional certificate in school district leadership from Stony Brook University.

What makes this especially gratifying to me is that I will be able to do this for the students of the community that I have called home for a decade.”
