Shwachman Diamond Dash Race Draws a Running Crowd
Nearly a 1,000 runners came out to support the cause.
The Shwachman Diamond Dash for a Cure 2013 held this weekend at Sunrise Elementary School in Sayville drew 843 running enthusiasts.
Two Sayville runners placed in the top 10 results: Colin Culhane placed fourth and Sayville Running Company's own Brendan Barrett placed eighth.
The race supports research into treatments and a potential cure for Shwachman Diamond Syndrome and other bone marrow failure syndromes.
