A special remembrance service is being held tonight in Sayville to honor the life of Mark Christopher Ambrosini who died on April 27.
The memorial celebration, according to a notice on the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home website, will be held at 6 p.m. at Foster Avenue Beach.
A scholarship has been established in honor of the 15-year-old called the Mark Ambrosini Scholarship Fund. Donors are asked to note the scholarship name in the check memo and can mail the donation to SMBA P.O. Box 332 Sayville, NY 11782 and/or Family Service League/ Joe's Project 790 Park Avenue Huntington, NY 11743.
Those attending the service this evening are being asked to bring a helium-filled balloon with a special message attached or written on the balloon for Ambrosini. The notice states the balloons will be released into the sky in unison.
“Mark would have thought this was Awesome! He probably would have taken a picture of it!,” states the website notice.
