B-BP Baseball Clinches League Title, Ties a Win Record
Wednesday was a winning day for B-BP boys baseball.
The Bayport-Blue Point Varsity Boys Baseball team (16-0) beat Amityville Wednesday and clinched the League VII regular season title. The 16 wins also ties a record of consecutive wins to start a season. The old record was held by the 2003 team which started 16-0 and finished 19-1 in league play, and 22-3 overall.
In Wednesday's game Sal Geraci who went 4 for 5 with 6 RBIs. P.J. Weeks was 3 for 5 with 5 runs scored, Matt White went 3 for 4 with 5 RBI and Jake Liberatore who was 2 for 5 with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.
The latest New York State Sportswriters Association rankings are out and Bayport- Blue Point is ranked #5 in New York State Class A.
Next week the Phantoms play second-place Shoreham-Wading River in a three-game series. B-BP beat SWR earlier in the year by a score of 8-2.
