2 Charged With DWI In Special State Police Enforcement Effort

Dozens of tickets issued in holiday weekend crackdown targeted at getting drunken drivers off the roads.

A special six-hour holiday weekend DWI patrol by State Police in Westchester led to two arrests and dozens of traffic tickets being issued.

The roving patrols started 9 p.m Saturday and included DWI checkpoints.

Eric Makris, 32, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated. He arrested and processed at the State Police barracks in Hawthorne without incident and released pending a hearing in Greenburgh Town Court on Dec. 5.

Vincent Lasorsa, 26, of Harrison, was charged with misdemeanor DWI. He was arrested and processed at the Hawthorne barracks without incident and released pending a Dec. 8 hearing in Greenburgh Town Court.
