2 Scarsdale Teens Raise More Than $6K For Pediatric Cancer

This was the 11th year for the Hot Cocoa Stand.

SCARSDALE, NY — More than $6,000 was raised over the weekend for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation by two Scarsdale teens.

Evan and Joshua Greenberg hosted their 11th annual Hot Cocoa Stand on March 11 and 12.

The money raised will go to support critical research at major hospitals and medical institutions including Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

According to a spokeswoman, what started out as a hot cocoa stand held in the Greenberg’s garage has now raised more than $36,000 in the past 11 years.

In addition to hot cocoa and baked good, raffles were held, with items including sports memorabilia and tickets donated by the Mets, Yankees, Giants, Jets, Rangers, Knicks, Nets and Devils. There were also donations from stores including Cutler Salon, Neil’s Sports, All Good Things and Vintology.

“Evan and Joshua Greenberg embody what our charity is about. These boys demonstrate that our mission, Coming together for a Cure, can begin at a young age with small hands,” said Pediatric Cancer Foundation president Bonnie Shyer. “Evan and Joshua’s energy, spirit and kindness are priceless. This cocoa stand is a success of the heart.”
