The Acceleration Project Awarded $100,000 From JPMorgan Chase

Award Acknowledges Efforts to Mentor Small Businesses Throughout New York Metro Area and Beyond

The Acceleration Project (TAP) has been awarded $100,000 from JPMorgan Chase to support its efforts to provide high-caliber business advice to small businesses, entrepreneurs, municipalities and nonprofits. This award, which will be used to fund TAP’s capacity building efforts, will allow the consulting firm to expand its services into new markets.

The investment is part of JPMorgan Chase’s $150 million Small Business Forward program to help women, minority and veteran entrepreneurs grow and thrive. The firm has a history of assisting organizations and programs that are critical to ensuring the health and vitality of communities across the nation. It connects underserved small businesses with capital, targeted technical assistance and support networks to help them succeed. In keeping with this goal, JPMorgan Chase chose TAP as a partner due to its innovative model that links small businesses to vital resources they need to prosper.

“The Acceleration Project is extremely appreciative of JPMorgan Chase's support of economic development in our local communities,” said TAP CEO Jane Veron. "These funds will enable us to continue to serve small businesses, with an emphasis on those owned by women and minorities, and to provide them with the technical assistance they need to take their businesses to the next level.”

Specifically, the funding provided will enable TAP to invest in its infrastructure, primarily focusing on project management, data management and outcome measurement. Veron stated, “As TAP scales, more small businesses will be able to take advantage of its services, resulting in improved outcomes for owners from underserved populations. Implementing the capacity-building solutions we've identified will allow us to provide these individuals with targeted assistance to help them succeed, strengthening local economies, preserving and creating jobs and promoting economic inclusion.”
