Rob and Charlene Spierer, who returned to Bloomington last Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday to continue search efforts, have planned a series of fundraisers and awareness events for Lauren for the month of December.

"We never expected to still be searching for Lauren six months after her disappearance," they said in a statement. "In some ways, June 3rd seems like yesterday and in others, it seems like a lifetime ago. It's inconceivable that someone, this very minute, knows what happened to Lauren and knows exactly where she is. Rest assured, we will never give up our search."

Tomorrow, IU will host "Support the Spierers," a vigil at apartment complex Smallwood Plaza featuring readings, songs and poems dedicated to Lauren. Participants will then walk to Fountain Square Mall and hang holiday cards on a prayer and support tree.

Additional events and fundraisers for the Spierer family can be found on the family's website, News on Lauren.
