Lori Kapner Hosp is dedicated to “painting with a purpose.” One hundred percent of the proceeds from her exhibitions go directly to nonprofits, including Hearts & Homes for Refugees, United Way of Westchester and Putnam, Anti-Defamation League, NYCLU, UJA-Federation, Scarsdale Synagogue, and NAACP. Lori’s Love Thy Neighbor solo exhibition at the Scarsdale Public Library (2025) fostered goodwill among people of different faiths. Her previous shows—Glimpses of the Places They Called Home (2020) and Visions of Home Lands at the White Plains Library Gallery (2022)—benefited refugees resettling in Westchester. Lori serves on the Boards of Directors of Hearts & Homes for Refugees and Westchester Jewish Council. Previously, she served on the Scarsdale Synagogue Board of Trustees and was a 2024 recipient of WJC’s Julian Y. Bernstein Distinguished Service Award. Lori credits her sculptor mother’s encouragement as the impetus behind all that she has created. She thanks her husband, Walter, for inspiring her with his generous heart; her children for their creative insights; and artist Eleanor Grace Miller for her guidance.
