Daily Sports Digest: Local Wrestlers Head to Divisional Tournament

The Top Spot:

On Saturday wrestlers from across the Hudson Valley will be competing against one another in the divisional tournaments. The four divisions will be at Harrison, Arlington, Horace Greeley and Mahopac. 

The top four placers at each tournament in each weight class will qualify for the section tournament next weekend. Wrestling will begin at each location at 10 a.m. with the finals expected to kick off around 4 p.m. 

Scarsdale will be competing in Division 3 at Horace Greeley along with Beacon, Greeley, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, North Rockland, Ossining and Yonkers.

Scarsdale’s Jack Braun and Jacob Berkowitz are both expected to do very well in the tournament.

Braun will be wrestling at 170 and Berkowitz will be competing at 182.

Sport: Boys Basketball

Game: Edgemont vs. Hastings

Score: Edgemont Won 59-47

Highlights: Edgemont’s Jack Keeny led the team 18 points and Will Loo added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Joseph Tino led all scorers with 25 points in the loss.

Today’s Schedule:

In ice hockey, Scarsdale will host Monroe Woobury at Murray’s Ice Rink in Yonkers at 3:30 p.m.
