Daily Sports Digest: Local Wrestlers Set For Sectionals

The Top Spot:
Over the weekend, the best wrestlers from across the Hudson Valley will compete in the sectional tournament.
The schools have been split up into two divisions, and Scarsdale will be competing in Division 1. Edgemont will be in Division 2.

Scarsdale will be sending 10 wrestlers to the tournament:
- Robert Keltz (106) seeded 15th
- Mike Hodges (113) seeded 10th
- Daniel Jureller (126) seeded 12th
- John Tambunting (132), ranked third
- Chen Shen (145) seeded 13th
- Brian Hackel (152) seeded 12th
- Jack Braun (170) seeded second
- Jacob Berkowitz (182) seeded first.
Joe Koshakow and Adam Meyre will both be competing at 138, with Koshakow at five seed and Merye at 13.

Berkowitz went 45-2 in his senior season, and he will have a bye in the first round. Braun went 38-3 in his senior year, and he will be up against Horace Greeley freshman Brock Cvijanovick, who is 14-15 up to this point in the season.
The Division 2 brackets are littered with Panthers, as 17 of Edgemont’s best wrestlers will be competing.
