Daily Sports Digest: Scarsdale Falls on the Field and Court

Both the Scarsdale field hockey team and volleyball squad were in action at home and both teams came away with a loss. The Raiders had the unenviable task of going up against Mamaroneck’s stellar field hockey squad while the school’s volleyball team fell to Ursuline.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Mamaroneck @ Scarsdale

Score:  Mamaroneck Won 4-0

Highlights: The Tigers won on the road and beet the Raiders thanks to four goals scored by different players. Jessica Corbin, Molly Cohen, Jessica Gardiner, and Rachel Brissette all scored for the Tigers as Nina Kumar had two saves. In the losing effort Becky Schwartz had three saves for Scarsdale.

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Ursuline @ Scarsdale

Score:  Ursuline Won 3-0

Highlights: Ursuline rattled off a quick three set victory on the road as they won 25-16, 25-21, and 25-21. Kristen Knight and Lauren Biolsi led the way with double digit kills as Celina Bertoncini led the Koalas with 23 assists. Amanda Reed had 12 assists for Scarsdale.
