Daily Sports Digest: Scarsdale Football Falls 49-6

The playoff season could not have gotten off to a worse start in Scarsdale as the Raiders fell 49-6 to North Rockland. Scarsdale football ends the season with a record of 4-4.

Both Scarsdale and Edgemont teams will be in action this weekend. Tonight Scarsdale High School will host a trio of games as the Raiders look to defeat the Red Raiders of North Rockland in boy’s soccer. Field hockey will host Arlington while volleyball looks to win at home against Mamaroneck.

If the teams win they could go on to play on Saturday, but the only game scheduled for Raider Nation on Saturday so far is the second seeded Scarsdale girl’s soccer team hosting fifteenth seeded Ketcham.

Edgemont also has a full slate of games tonight as the boy’s soccer team will host Woodlands, and the volleyball team will square off against Putnam Valley.

On Saturday Edgemont football will travel to Riverside, and Edgemont will host Somers in field hockey and Westlake in girl’s soccer.

Score:  North Rockland Won 49-6

Highlights: It wasn’t the best game for Scarsdale as North Rockland cruised to victory and scoring 42 unanswered first half points. The only Scarsdale points were put up on the board by Time Leone on a two yard run in the forth quarter.

In field hockey, (10) Arlington at (7) Scarsdale 1 p.m.

In volleyball, (11) Mamaroneck at (6) Scarsdale 4:30.

In volleyball, (9) Putnam Valley at (8) Edgemont 3 p.m.
