Edgemont Homeowner, Pedestrians Capture Burglar Suspect: Cops
The incident occurred Sunday morning, May 24.

A Clubway homeowner in Edgemont Sunday found an alleged burglar in a closet in his home, chased the suspect and apprehended him nearby with help from pedestrians, according to Greenburgh Police.
The incident unfolded just after 11 a.m. Police were called to East Hartsdale Avenue on a report of a group of people holding a burglary suspect. No injuries were reported.
Police said Bryan Mitchell, a 20-year-old homeless man, was hiding when the homeowner confronted him and chased him out of the house. A group of pedestrians were nearby, saw the commotion and helped the homeowner detain Mitchell.

“Recovered in Mitchell’s possession were several items stolen from the Clubway home,” said Greenburgh Police Sgt. Robert Whiting in a statement.
Mitchell was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree a class C-Felony, and was being held pending arraignment.
