Hello Everyone,
I wanted to make you aware of and invite you to an assembly program at Quaker Ridge Elementary School on Wednesday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
The 5th grade band will be performing with a group of professional musicians for the school. We have been working on 2 pieces by Duke Ellington, and exploring jazz improvisation in general. This is a program that I have been presenting for many years at the Elementary level and happy to say will be presented to the Middle School (with students of Nick Lieto's) on June 7.
The group that will be coming to Scarsdale is made up of veteran musicians from NYC; all with whom I have worked in my "other life" . They have performed with Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross and a host of others. Our students are extremely lucky to be able to make music with and learn from these talented individuals.
