“Modern Jazz Appreciation” is a new four-session course at SAS for the jazz aficionado. Led by Marshall Tilden, Jr., accomplished jazz pianist and drummer, this series explores the innovations of the early ragtime composers, the rise of the big band era, and the current jazz scene. Live performances and improvisation on the jazz piano are part of the course’s allure. The class meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. starting March 6, 2012, at the high school. Tuition is $120. Register at ScarsdaleAdultSchool.org or call 723-2325 with questions.
