Flooring and Kitchen Design Center Celebrates Grand Opening

Ribbon cutting ceremony featured local dignitaries and members of the business community.

Flooring and Kitchen Design Center (formally Flooring Liquidators) celebrated its new name and expanded product and service offerings with a Grand Opening event and ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the company’s evolution and renovated showroom.

In front of an audience that included dozens of members from the business community, local politicians and dignitaries, George Oros, Chief of Staff for County Executive Rob Astorino, presented owner John Posimato with a proclamation declaring May 20, 2016 “Flooring and Kitchen Design Center Day” in Westchester County.

Guests in attendance at the newly remodeled store, located at 267 Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford, included Albert Annunziata (Executive Director, Building and Realty Institute), Paul Feiner (Greenburgh Town Supervisor), Alyssa Jacobs ( Director-Constituent/Support Services for Assemblyman Thomas J. Abinanti) and speakers John Ravitz (Executive Vice President, The Business Council of Westchester), Kevin Morgan (Councilman, Greenburgh) Alfreda Williams (Westchester County Legislator, District 8), and InspiriaMedia Group’s Nick Simard, who served as the MC at the event.

“The County Executive’s Office giving us a proclamation was very nice, and they put it up on the Jumbo Tron at the Westchester County Center for the day,” said Posimato. “It’s great that they recognize the importance of promoting a family business, and it’s a good partnership between a private, family-owned business and the county.”

Posimato said the store’s new showroom features ten deluxe kitchen designs, all outfitted with upscale appliances, with the company now offering additional new services that integrate custom kitchen design into its customer offerings including plans for upcoming cooking demonstrations.

The store also offers a wide selection of cabinet brands and flooring using the newest technology and highest quality materials.

“Our goal is to offer our customers a memorable and unique one-stop shopping experience that includes a wide selection of finely crafted kitchen cabinetry, countertops and accessories available,” said Posimato. “As a family-owned business, we take great pride in our integrity and our reputation and want our new center to become a destination that our customers will want to return to as a solution for all their home improvement projects.”

With that goal in mind, Flooring and Kitchen Design Center will expand its staff of professionals including kitchen designers and sales personnel by three, bringing the total employee count to twenty-eight.

As part of the building’s renovation, the Flooring and Kitchen Design Center facility was recently outfitted with a large solar panel array that generates enough electricity to meet the power needs of the store and enough surplus to power a warehouse and the Premier Flooring location in Mt. Kisco.

Posimato believes it is important to support the local community; recent charity efforts have included St. Jude’s Hospital, Susan G. Koman and Elmsford Little League. This year, he is planning on working with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter to help raise funds for the treatment of blood cancers.

In addition to the Flooring and Kitchen Design Center, John Posimato, a businessman for 28 years and a member of the Westchester Business Council, owns and operates three other Westchester-based businesses. They include Zip-Up Ceilings, a custom ceiling system for outdoor decks, Zippy Shell, a containerized moving and storage solution and Premier Flooring, a commercial division of his flooring business. The companies are located at 267 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford, NY, 10523. Phone: (914) 345-0171 or visit www.flooringandkitchendesigncenter.com/.
